Team USA Targets Gold Medal Matches on Day 13 of Tokyo Olympics: How to Watch on TV

It’s now Day 13 of the Tokyo Olympics, and action continues to heat up in the Japanese capital. Team USA will look to book places in the final of both men’s basketball and women’s beach volleyball as the Americans enter their respective semifinal games today as overwhelming favorites.

Track and field also takes center stage today, with Team USA’s Grant Holloway and Ryan Crouser gunning for gold medals. American athletes also have gold medal bouts in wrestling and boxing on Day 13 as they look to boost Team USA’s haul of 25 golds here in Tokyo thus far.

Semis matches for Team USA in men’s basketball and women’s beach volleyball

It’s semifinal day for Team USA in the men’s basketball competition, with the Americans facing Australia in another crunch clash. Team USA heads into this match brimming with confidence after a superb performance against Spain in the quarterfinals. The Americans battled back from a double-digit deficit in the second quarter to record a comprehensive 95-81 win over the Spaniards.

Leading the way for Team USA’s comeback in that contest was Kevin Durant, who scored 29 points. Things are bound to get tougher, though, against Australia as they have failed to beat the Boomers in their last two exhibition meetings. Team USA’s last match against Australia ended in a 91-83 loss, so the Americans surely won’t take this game for granted. Action starts at 12:15 a.m. ET and can be seen live on NBC‘s streaming service Peacock.

Also, today, Team USA will look to advance to the final in women’s beach volleyball, with April Ross and Alix Klineman leading the charge. The Americans head into their semifinal clash against Anouk Vergé-Dépré and Joana Heidrich of Switzerland in excellent form as they have yet to lose in the tournament, going unbeaten in pool play and winning their matches in the round of 16 and quarterfinals in straight sets. Their match starts at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Team USA gunning for gold medals in track and field and boxing

In track and field, Team USA’s Ryan Crouser will look to defend his Olympic title in the men’s shot put on Day 13. Crouser is the prohibitive favorite given that he holds both the world and Olympic records in this event. Will Claye also targets gold for Team USA in the men’s triple jump, looking to finally improve on his silver-medal finish the past two Olympics.

Track events can be seen live starting at 8 p.m. ET on USA Network. The field finals in the shot put and triple jump can be seen live on Peacock starting at 10 p.m. ET.

Boxing has not provided any gold medals for Team USA in the Olympics since 2004. That can change today when Duke Ragan faces ROC boxer Albert Batyrgaziev in the men’s featherweight final. His bout is scheduled for 2:35 a.m. ET with Peacock providing the coverage.
